Arthur's April Fool

With April Fool's happening on Sunday, I thought I would upload easy activities to do if you have the book, Arthur's April Fool by Marc Brown. This FREE packet includes a story element graphic organizer, vocabulary activity, word search and other activities that center around Arthur's April Fool and April Fool's Day.

Enjoy :)

Magic Squares

In honor of Ms. Sebrena Wade being my first follower, I have created a 3rd Grade Math Topic 16 from Pearson's Envision Vocabulary Activity. The complete activity with answers is on my TPT store.

Students work in pairs or individually to match the vocabulary word to the definition. The student then puts the correct number for the matching word in the word box. All the rows in the chart should add up to the same number. I call this Magic Squares. Words include: Capacity, Weight, Customary Units, Convert, Mass, Elapsed time, Degrees Fahrenheit, Volume, and Meter. Answer Key is included.
Enjoy:)

We Give Books

I want to share a website I just found out about. It is wegivebooks.org.

WE GIVE BOOKS, a Pearson Foundation and Penguin Group Initiative, is a free website for you to put books in the hands of children who don't have them, simply by reading online...kind of like a free Kindle for kids. Each time your child reads a book, a free book is donated to a charity for kids who need books around the world! 945,027 books read to date!

Test Time is Coming!!

Testing Treat Bag Tags

This item is designed for the TN Comprehensive Assessment. Just add the candy/item in bold and all caps to a treat bag to relax/encourage students before taking state assessments. I also use these as Building Test Coordinator. Each day of the test we give one of the tips during morning announcements. The class then receives the treat for the day. The students are always excited to see what the next day’s saying/treat will be.
You can download the tags from my TPT store.
My friend, Beth, found this great powerpoint to go over Testing Tips. It is from Kelly Headrick & Michelle McArthur: Project GRAD Knoxville School Climate Consultants. I hope you find it very useful. We are going to use it at a parent night before the TCAP. Just Google TCAP Testing Tips: Because TCAP Testing is NOT a Guessing Game.

Welcome :)

Hello, I am very excited to be starting my own blog. I have enjoyed reading and following blogs during the past year. I have learned and seen so many great ideas. I also think blogs are a great way for teachers to share ideas and help one another out.

My goal for this blog is to share with everyone great ideas I find and help put a SMILE on your face.

Enjoy!
